Holly Adler is an accomplished designer whose work includes more than 30 lines of Christmas ornaments, figurines, and has contributed to several popular licensed lines. Holly has designed for The Walt Disney Company, Sesame Street, The NFL, Raggety Ann & Andy, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Lamb Chop, V R Troopers, Thomas the Tank, and Peanuts. Holly had designed the Christmas ornament interpretations for many of the Disney Movies, including, “The Little Mermaid”, “Aladdin”, “Snow White”, “101 Dalmatians”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Bambi”, “Pinocchio”, “The Lion King”, “Pocahontas”, and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”.
Holly credits her artistic parents with helping their young collector explore her potential. Her father, Charles A. Barnes, a self-taught, prize-winning photographer, not only taught Holly photography, but also instilled in her “…an appreciation for the patience it takes to get exactly what you want.”
Holly & her husband Jeff have been marketing their exclusive designs in Minnesota & Wisconsin for more than 25 years. Unique designs and award winning display makes the “Holly’s Hobby” booth a destination at State Fairs & Festivals. The purchase of their work has been a tradition for thousands of families across the Midwest. This website will feature many of Holly’s newest designs, along with lots of old favorites.
How simple life was when there was just one teddy bear. I was 4 and he was fuzzy and brown eyed and I carried him around by the tail. Now there are more than 500 bears crowding my studio and the paper work is piling up. There is the matter of names, birthdays, and there is nothing worse that misplacing a loved one.
For quite some time, my fascination with teddy bears has been the object of some concern for my family. From opening a tiny store called “Bearly Big Enough” in a local mall, to promising a flight attendant that I really could get that big bear into the overhead compartment, my bear related activities have ruffled a few feathers. OOPS, perhaps I should say a little fur! Fortunately, I have a patient, loving husband and tolerant children.
My teddy bear collection ranges from the 5 foot tall and almost as round, Bruise, who flew home from Germany with us a few years ago, to Ursa Minor, who perches on a 1 inch high rocking chair. I am endlessly enchanted by my bears wistful expressions and I am always on the lookout for a new friend.
“Holly Bearies” really began many years ago when I started sculpting tiny bears for my collection. In 1994, after 9 years of design experience with Kurt S. Adler Company, I decided it was time to introduce my very special bears to the world. This website will feature many of my newest designs and some of my old favorites.
For decades, the teddy bear has been winning hearts all over the world. The teddy bear is truly a symbol of the gentler side of human nature. “Holly Bearies” and all of my ornaments are designed from my heart and they are looking for a home in your heart.
